Bonds For Construction Contractors

Public Works Bond

Before a contractor may work on a public works project that is subject to the PWR law, the contractor must file a $30,000 Public Works Bond with the Construction Contractor's Board to be used exclusively for unpaid wages determined to be due by B.O.L.I.

General contractors are required to verify that any subcontractor they hire to work on a public works project, has filed a public works bond before permitting a subcontractor to start work on a project.
